We have followed traditional medical principles in the management of our patients. Starting with a cardiac evaluation and examination, we then proceed with further testing only when appropriate. We make recommendations only after discussion and education and having an informed patient. We are available to discuss testing with families of patients.
Testing recommendations are drawn from the Cardiovascular guidelines published by the American College of Cardiology, American Heart association, American Society of Echocardiography and American Society of Nuclear Cardiology. When there is not any guideline to draw from, we rely on our medical judgement and extensive training in cardiac testing and imaging.
In this day of medical testing with new tests being developed and used often leading to further testing and then more testing, it is essential that we always try to derive the best treatment solutions in a timely fashion with the single proper test. It is just as important to know what tests to avoid as it is to complete the correct test to aide in medical decision making and offer the best therapy for our patients.
